A Few Old Attempts at Free Verse//The sad ones//

I.] Untitled

Somewhere between now & eternity
I am faced with a question mark...
A volley of unanswered puzzles,
quizzing my mind,
paralysing my reflexes,
blurring my memories,
my treasures from the past!

Standing surrounded by the road sand,
the wind, a song in my ears...
A song my mind won't let me indulge in.
Turning the chains of melody into pieces of discordant notes,
waiting to bury themselves in comfortable oblivion.

Begun feeling lost in the company of those I hold dear,
only a blur in a mass called "friends"
know its a phase..."This too shall pass"...

But somewhere between now & eternity,
my universe, unbounded by limitations & inadequacies,
I still yearn to find myself,
cuz' somewhere between now & eternity is all the time I've got!

II.] Pain

Moving through spirals of time
slow...maneuvering every jagged edge.
Ever so smooth on the rough,
The rich & happy moments making a quick deep stab.
Alive & awake to reason; fumbling at the thought of loss!
Deep slices of heartfelt sincerity
served on an open platter with picks.
Jabs of incandescent delight amazing and shameful together.

A universe of truth now a distant possibility.
Fickle shifting sands sliding from below my toes...
beyond this to a parallel galaxy.
No longer held tight, no longer held loose...
No longer.
Inheritance...acceptance & sour defeat!
